[tab title=”Prizes”]A Silent Cure in my Back YardThe grand prize is a box of local, USDA Certified Organic vegetables, courtesy of A Silent Cure in my Back Yard. The grand prize winner will also have his or her recipe featured in Kate’s column “Strength in Plants” in the Berks Country (Reading Eagle) Newspaper. The runner up will receive an autographed copy of the book.

Local author, Kate Murray of Shillington, PA takes readers on a journey that is the perfect blend of entertainment and instruction. Sometimes things stick with us because they make sense. Maybe it’s because we learned them from our mother or grandmother, so we believe them in our adult lives. It’s a common, mis-leading assumption that guides our decision making about what kind of food we put in our mouths. We know that fast food isn’t the best choice, but is cooking at home with olive oil really healthy? Find out why mainstream America is still woefully unaware of what we eat…and how provocative the impact is on disease for the next generation.

You will laugh, cry, and be truly inspired by how this book will shatter the foundation of everything you once believed to be true about proper nutrition. She is also currently working on her second book, a children’s book about the importance of eating vegetables, which is coming soon!
